The 23rd edition of the Encounters Film Festival in Bristol, England, has been scheduled to screen two films from Iran.
The festival will present ‘Pink’ made by Mahboubeh Mohammadzaki in the animation category and ‘Retouch’ directed by Kaveh Mazaheri in the short film section.
Produced by the Iranian Young Cinema Society, the 20-minute ‘Retouch’ is about a young woman whose husband dies before her eyes and she is merely a witness to the tragic scene.
It has previously won Best Short Film Awards at the Krakow International Film Festival, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and the Tribeca Film Festival, all in the US.
The five-minute animation ‘Pink’ is a slice of a woman’s life and routine with breast cancer in the modern world.
The Encounters Film Festival, an event for short and animated films, is annually organized in Bristol.
The 23rd edition of the Encounters Film Festival is slated for September 19-24 in Bristol.
